BOOKS YOU WILL LOVE!
“This is the best book you can use to develop your intuition for coding challenges in interviews. It has lots of exercises for practicing and the concepts are laid out simply. It will help you more than practicing coding on a computer where you have the help of an IDE and can get easily distracted with the internet. If you want to succeed in your coding interview, I highly recommend you set aside some time every day to disconnect from everything, open this book and a notebook and start working through the exercises. I’m relieved to finally see these kinds of programming books coming out to supplement other books that can sometimes be quite formal and full of proofs, but that offer no insights into how to develop an intuition into solving programming problems, specifically the kind you may face at an interview. It also has lots of information about how the interview processes work which is useful as well and calms your nerves as you’re preparing.”
“I appreciated how this book has prepared me for interviewing. I am pretty comfortable with answering questions, but asking questions was pretty difficult for me. I read this book and wrote down about ten questions to ask. I have gone on many interviews in the last several weeks. Every time I ask a question, the first response I get is “That is an excellent question.” I have gained more confidence interviewing because I know that whomever I ask from Hiring Managers to HR to Executive Directors to Unit Managers, I am asking intelligent questions that are getting me called back for second interviews. So I am making the cut. When hundreds of people apply, and there are only five openings, and you make the final cut, the book has definitely helped.”
“This book is truly a phenomenal resource for those looking for a new career path (or just starting one). The MBTI has been shown to be an accurate personality test and I was thrilled to find a resource that tries to not only help you find a great job but help you get to know yourself and your preferences, talents, and skills better. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.”
“I feel that this book has given me the appropriate information I need to know to complete an outstanding resume. It was very well-explained with clear instructions on what to include and what not to include in a resume. The diagrams are easy to follow and provide great examples. All my questions about writing a professional resume were answered very well. I will definitely be using the tips and knowledge from this book to help me write future resumes. I will also highly recommend it to my college classmates.”
“Whether you work in HR and interview people for a living, or you’re planning on applying for a job soon, this book is a must have. It really helps prepare anyone for some tough interview questions that almost every employer uses. You’ll obviously need to couple this book with some experience and skills, but this book will truly prepare you and help calm your fears so you can get the job of your dreams (or even just any job really).”
“Lavie has clearly shown us his knowledge and insight of today’s job market.
The 500 questions are exactly to the point, and will empower the job-seeker with the ability to earn that job he/she deserves, and not to lose an opportunity based on shortcomings in character.
I strongly recommend Lavie’s book – not only for the job-seekers – but also for those offering jobs. Knowing these questions will alleviate their search, and land them the most productive employee.”
